If you don't want to spend time exploring this site but need to know more, quickly, about me and my work, this is the place for you! There is the official back of the book bio paragraph, photographs, a list of my books, my PR contact and legal info. Helen Bailey was born and brought up in Ponteland, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Barely into her teens, Helen invested her pocket money in buying a copy of The Writers' and Artists' Yearbook and spent the next few years sending short stories and poems to anyone she could think of. Much to her surprise, she sometimes found herself in print. After a degree in science, Helen worked in the media and now runs a successful London-based character licensing agency handling internationally renowned properties such as Snoopy, Dirty Dancing, Dilbert and Felicity Wishes. With her dachshund, Rufus, and her husband, John, she divides her time between Highgate, North London and the North-East. She is the author of a number of short stories, young novels and picture books.
